Ah-Gong thanks you for your hard work..

[4:26 pm]

Like so many in the organisation, we have been expecting a payout of up to 0.5 months..but when it was announced yesterday, it was a quarter of a month payout..which wasn't too bad..

until....

the bombshell; to be capped up to $750...everyone fell off their chairs..

I guess everyone was disappointed..but yet had to grudgingly accept it..better to have something rather than not have anything..

And I think with this announcement, everyone would be tightening their belts..so shopping centers, please don't count on us to stimulate the economy..our procurement plans have all been placed on hold..mine included..

Hopefully, the payout next year would be better...sighz..an overworked and underpaid year..

His recovery has been so fast that I was pleasantly surprised. When I visited him on Friday, he was eating chicken rice!!!!! Wah lau, the oily chicken rice, when he has just undergone a double bypass surgery...

Leonid Meteor showers

[10:31 pm]

Guess the body can no longer take late nights anymore..

It has been a long while since I have last seen a meteor shower and when the opportunity came (I didn't know about it until I saw someone's FB post), I decided to take a look and hopefully, capture some shots of it.

And surprisingly, J wanted to view the meteor shower and together, off we went to Punggol End at an un-earthly hour (read:0330H) to catch it. And we would soon regret our decision in our dressing as the mosquitoes descended on us when we reach the area.

J got bitten badly on the legs before I decided we should change the location...but not before seeing 1 of the shooting stars streaking overhead. So off in my car we went, going off to another photography location that I had discovered by chance years ago.

But this time we did not get out of the car, but lowered the seats and popping open my sun-roof. And voila!! No menacing mosquitoes..just me and her under the star-studded night sky. Thank god for my insistence in getting a car with sun-roof..hehe..

Overall, we saw 3 shooting stars each, so much for the meteor shower..haha

But how exhausted we were!! By the time I sent her home, it was 0630H in the morning...I went home for a shower before heading off to work..while feeling downing copious amount of coffee to keep awake.

But J fell ill at night when I picked her up from her yoga class. At first I thought she had contracted dengue fever and got very worried. But luckily the fever subsided within a day, or else I would had been guilt-ridden.

I also fell sick myself..but I managed to sleep it off during my duty cycle and flushing the system with plenty of water. Hope nothing will stop me from my long distance running regime on Sunday. I need that run to condition myself for StanChart..

The worry is over!!

[2:23 pm]

The conclusion of APEC 2009 has finally ended a crazy week. It meant I can finally concentrate on my family matters.

The old man went into the OT for his double bypass surgery at 0715H and was out by 1200H. The surgery was successful and he was sent to the CICU for one night of observation. If nothing goes wrong, he would be sent to the High Dependency ward.

When I visited after the surgery, he was still heavily sedated and couldn't speak at all. But after talking to the doctor, I was relieved to know that he was ok.

While at least the episode is over, now its time to embark on the recovery road..that means, no drinking and smoking for six months!!
