1 Month on..

[6:00 am]

It's been one month since you have gotten into a relationship with I.

Despite the common perception that the first 3 months is the honeymoon period, this is not true. As with every relationship, there will be disagreements over some areas as both parties come to a common consensus. Due to your relative inexperience in relationships, you tend to upset her with your insensitive remarks.

There's been instances whereby your ego and insecurity often gets into the way of a sweet relationship which you often envisaged. The conversations do get heavy as both of you sought to understand each other's point of view. Despite such heavy conversations, it's often surprising that such discussion is so easy between both of you despite the infancy of the relationship.

While it's never easy given the distance apart from each other, both of you are committed to make the relationship work; calling each other during your commute to and from work, texting each other during the course of the day, etc. You also drive up to spend time with her once a fortnight, going on dates and getting to know her better.

At this moment in time, you are trying to stabilise the relationship with the aim of taking it to the further heights, and eventually, marriage. So, you will need to be self-conscious of not letting your ego and insecurity ruin the relationship.

Review of 2016

[7:16 pm]

As you reflected your hits and misses in 2016, it seems that you have not achieved much in terms of your resolutions.

To give one a quick glimpse of what you had set out to do, the resolutions are as follows;

2016 Resolutions

1. To take to the skies again and regain your flying currency;

2. To go for a long trip at least once a year.

3. Start hunting for and get the house which you have yearn for.

4. Start doing long runs again.

Notwithstanding that you have went for several long work trips in the early part of the year and attempted to do some flying, the need to tighten up on the finances to purchase a house has meant that you needed to trade off s/n 1 and 2.

While you have started out on s/n 3 and 4, you have not been able to break the 10km barrier in the runs. But you have managed to stick to exercising twice a week (mostly as a weekend warrior), which typically revolves around running, swimming and gym exercises.

Looking back, despite 2016 being a hectic work year, you have managed to equip with a Graduate Diploma in HR and got yourself back to the dating scene at the constant urging of close friends. Ironically, the dating has gotten across the border with you getting into a relationship with a nice girl. Its amusing given your previous job did not allow you to have a foreign relationship (even though she is PR) and that having lost out to someone from there, Fate gave you a girl from that country.

As they said, its just karma.

But this girl, whom you shall call I, is a nice girl who is unpretentious, compassionate, filial and understanding. She also shares the same values with you, one which is a rarity these days. Hopefully this relationship will lead to a ever after.

With that, its time to pen down your resolutions of 2017;

1. Exercise at least 3 times a week.
2. Finish up the 14 Airline Transport Pilot Licence exams.
3. Purchase your first house.
4. Start flying
